Drug Take Back Day is April 27

Pearland and Manvel residents can bring medications for disposal to one of four locations in Brazoria County on Prescription Drug Take Back Day April 27.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Brazoria County will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is hosted by the Brazoria County Prescription Drug Task Force of Brazoria County Community Coalition (BCCC).

The national day is held in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to hold a public event that provides opportunities to rid residences of potentially dangerous prescription drugs that are unused, expired or not needed or wanted by their owners.

The four locations closest to Pearland and Manvel include the Stella Roberts Recycling Center at 5800 Magnolia in Pearland; Reflective Bay Park at Shadow Creek at 12115 S. Clear Lake Loop in Pearland, Richwood Police Department at1800 North Brazosport Blvd. in Richmond, and the Manvel Police Department at 6615 N. Masters (CR 1128) in Manvel.

The drop off is free, is anonymous and has no questions asked of the person dropping off the drugs for disposal.

All medications, both prescription and over the counter, are accepted but no sharps.
