Registration is underway for the 15th Annual Pear Run sponsored by the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (PCPAAA). This year’s event will be May 11 at the Pearland Town Center Pavilion, 11200 W. Broadway, in Pearland.

Races include 10K, 5K, 5K Walk and Kids Fun Run. The first race begins at 7 a.m.

The 2019 Pear Run is celebrating 15 years of police support, healthy living and exercise. The event benefits the Pearland PD by purchasing equipment, K-9 officers, officer memorials and more.

This year’s goal is set for $50,000 and will be used for a new mobile command center for SWAT situations and large public events. This command center is designed to have state-of-the-art in technologies for safety and to assist with police activities.

The PCPAAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The PCPAAA supports the Pearland Police officers through volunteer training opportunities, assistance with the Pearland Police Explorers Post 237, Teen CPA and the purchasing of equipment, such as items used in the R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) training put on by the Pearland Police Department.
