Calling all school aged kids in Friendswood. Readers are needed for a video at City Hall.
Since 2016, during the July Friendswood City Council meeting, the Declaration of Independence was read on video.
The 2019 video will be all individual school-aged kids–one per family. The individual pieces will be recorded in Council Chambers at Friendswood City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Drive in Friendswood on Friday and Saturday, May 24-25 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Filming takes 10 minutes or less. Cue cards are provided. Dress is what children would wear to a nice restaurant, according to city officials. The video is shot from the waist-up.
For a child to participate, parents should send an email to [email protected] with: Child’s name, child’s age, day (Friday, May 24 or Saturday, May 25), time (between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.), and mobile phone number.
The appointment will be confirmed by email. The email also will provide the individual sentence from the Declaration of Independence the child will be reading, and a Release Form will be attached to complete.
