INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids in duplicate will be received by the Brazoria Drainage District No. 4 at 4813 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019.  All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:00 a.m. in the office of the District at 4813 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 on August 29, 2019 for the following improvements in Brazoria Drainage District No. 4:

MYKAWA ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The scope of the project includes (approximately): Enclosing the existing open ditch along Mykawa Road (approximately 2,000 linear feet) by installing a dual set of reinforced concrete box culverts (RCBs) with junction boxes and connect to the downstream arch pipe crossing at Orange Street and to the upstream pipe crossing Cherry Street.

Develop an upstream detention basin south of Cherry Street with an approximate storage volume of 4.0 acre-feet. The basin will be graded alongside the existing road ditch to afford off-line storage; and

Develop a downstream detention basin west of SH 35/Main Street and south of Town Ditch with approximate storage volume of 28.0 acre-feet. Incorporate both a low-flow outlet and an overflow spillway feature to optimize hydraulic performance.

Bid Documents may be examined without charge in the offices of BDD4, 4813 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, or may be obtained at the following procurement website Civcast https://www.civcastusa.com.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the offices of BDD4, 4813 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

A Cashier’s Check, or bid bond payable to Brazoria Drainage District No. 4 in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid submitted, as outlined in the Contract Documents, must accompany the bid.

The successful bidder receiving Contract awards must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) each of the total Contract price.  The successful bidder must also furnish a maintenance bond which shall guarantee all work embraced by the Contract against defective workmanship and materials for a period of one (1) year.  Each such bond shall be executed by a corporate surety authorized to do business in the State of Texas.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive bidding informalities.  Those bids deemed most advantageous to the Owner will be considered for the award of a Contract.
