Manvel Council sets dates for public hearings on tax rate

Two public hearings were set to hear about the the Preliminary Tax Rate for 2019 approved by Manvel City Council at their recent City Council meeting. The first public hearing will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 7 pm and the following public hearing will be Monday, September 9, 2019 at 6 pm. Both will be held at City Hall at 20025 Hwy 6 in Manvel.

Prior to the meeting, the Council held a workshop session on the proposed Fiscal Year 2020 Budget.

In other Council news, the members approved the Henderson Minor Plat located on Tankersley and the minor plat of Cullen RV resort.

A public hearing was held August 12 to hear input from the public regarding an ordinance of the City of Manvel to amend the zoning classification of approximately 11.944 acres bounded by Lewis Lane, Large Avenue, School Drive and FM 1128.

A second public hearing was held regarding the amending of the zoning classification of approximately 2 acres located at 20703 Morris Avenue.

Council also approved the first of two readings of Ordinance 2019-O-27 regarding amending Article VII of Chapter 35 Licenses and Special Business Regulations of the Code of Ordinances by adding a new section Solicitation in Public Roadway/Right of Way to regulate solicitation in a public roadway.

The next meeting of City Council will be September 3, 2019 at 6 pm at City Hall.
