KPB prepares for City Clean Up

In Pearland by Reporter NewsLeave a Comment

The annual Pearland Community Wide Clean Up will take place Saturday, September 21, 2019. The event is hosted by Keep Pearland Beautiful.

Breakfast and supply pick up will be between 7:30 am and 9 am at Centennial Park-Lone Star Pavilion at 3219 McLean Rd. in Pearland.

KPB will supply all bags and gloves needed for the cleanup. These items can be picked up at Centennial Park on the day of the event or those needing them can arrange to come by the KPB office in the Stella Roberts Recycling Center before the cleanup date.

When the clean up is over, bags with trash can be left next to the Adopt a Spot signs.

As in the past, volunteers at the event are encouraged to use the online Adopt a Spot Clean Up Wrap Up report to document clean up experiences.

All Adopt a Spot groups are required to clean their locations at least four times a year, two of which are in conjunction with the KPB semi-annual clean ups. The online report also provides photos. Volunteers are encouraged to put their info and photographs of the work at the site.

Register at http://bit.ly/cleanPearland. Any volunteers not associated with an Adopt-A-Spot will be assigned to an area or added to another group.  More than one person can be placed on the registration form.

The Lone Star Pavilion is the pavilion adjacent to the splash pad.  The entrance to the parking lot is near the intersection of Ryan Acres St. and McLean.

KPB currently serves over 10,000 households, with 250 members, through litter prevention, waste reduction, and beautification programs.
