Brazoria County Emergency Services District No. 3 is hosting a class on September 23 about laws that affect Emergency Service Districts.
The class is Laws Affecting Emergency Services Districts and will be held at 6 pm in Liberty Alumni Hall at Alvin ISD Freedom Field.
Administrative Law Attorney Ken Campbell, a well-known Emergency Services District attorney from Austin will conduct the presentation.
The program will include information about Chapter 775 of the Health and Safety Code and many other pieces of legislation that govern how Emergency Services Districts operate.
“Several of our staff members and commissioners attended a training from Ken Campbell and were extremely impressed by his presentation and felt it would be helpful for officials in our area,” Emil Havens, assistant to the Executive Director in Manvel said. “Laws that affect the District do change but not necessarily annually. This class isn’t just about recent changes but about overall laws and regulations that affect Districts day to day.”
Brazoria County currently has six Emergency Services Districts
Community leaders are encouraged to attend to better understand how Emergency Services Districts are required to operate. Invitations have been sent to County Commissioners along with representatives from other Emergency Services Districts in Brazoria County and other appropriate officials in the area.
