The Grand Parkway (SH99) will be the main topic presented by Galveston County Judge Mark Henry at the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon at The Green Event Center October 3.

State Highway 99 (the Grand Parkway) is a proposed 184-mile circumferential highway traversing seven counties in the Greater Houston area.

Six segments of the planned Grand Parkway (State Highway 99) loop circling the Houston metro region are now open, and drivers can travel nonstop through the northwest side of Houston from I-10 near Katy to I-69/US59 north of Houston, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

In addition to helping alleviate traffic congestion in some of the area’s fastest-growing communities, the Grand Parkway provides additional hurricane and emergency evacuation routes for the greater Houston area.

Once completed, the Grand Parkway’s 11 segments—designated A through I-2—will travel through seven counties.

. RSVP to hear Judge Henry discuss the Grand Parkway by October 1 to the Chamber at 281-482-3329 or register on the website at www.friendswoodchamber.com.
