A wide variety of health and fitness activities are available for seniors at the Knapp Activity Center at 2424 S. Park Ave. in Pearland.
Seniors can learn to clog at the Knapp Activity Center at 2424 S. Park Avenue in Pearland every Friday at noon in the Craft Room. New members are welcome to enjoy exercise and do aerobics.
The Walking Club meets at the Pearland Recreation Center and walks the indoor track every Monday and Friday from 8:05 to 9 am.
Sit & Be Fit involves chair exercises intended to increase core strength, balance, coordination, circulation and flexibility. It is offered Monday through Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
Tai Chi is offered on Mondays from 8:30 to 9:30 am and Wednesdays from 9 to 10 am. Tai Chi is a self-paced, gentle form of stretching and exercise and involves three pieces: health, meditation and martial arts.
Total Body Conditioning is offered Tuesdays from noon to 1 pm. Total Body Strength is offered from noon to 1 pm on Thursdays.
Mind and Body Conditioning is offered on Tuesdays from 1 to 2 pm.
Line Dancing with country western, Latin, pop and musical variations, is taught Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
Ballroom dancing is taught on Mondays from 12:15 to 1:15 pm and includes West Coast Swing, Cha-Cha, waltz and more.
Zumba Gold classes are given on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 am and Fridays from 9 to 10 am.
ACES are offered on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 to 9 am. The class is designed for senior adults and based on solid research and evidence. ACES include stretching, flexibility, balance, low-impact aerobics and strength exercises.
Yoga for Seniors is taught on Thursdays from 1 to 2 pm. The class improves strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and fitness.
