Registration is underway for the Second Annual Rotary Regatta on Clear Creek Sunday, October 20, 2019.

Rotary Clubs of both Friendswood and League City host the popular returning event.

The regatta is a seven-mile canoe/kayak race that begins at 1776 Park in Friendswood and ends at Countryside Park in League City.

The race was established to bring some fun and awareness to Clear Creek and the two Rotary Clubs. This canoe race started as a passion project for Luis Briones, a Friendswood Rotary club member. He is an avid canoeist who wanted to bring some fun and more awareness to Clear Creek.

The regatta will kick off at 9 am at 1776 Park at 450 FM 2351 in Friendswood.

Refreshments and live entertainment will be held at Countryside Park at 100 Alderwood in League City when the race ends.

Registration is $35 for competitors.

This year the 1776 Park has a new canoe/kayak launch thanks to Friendswood City, City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation, Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District,  Friendswood Rotary Club and Rotary Club of League City.
