Hopefest 2019 will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6 at Hope Lutheran Church in Friendswood.

Food, fun and family oriented activities for all agew are all part of this year’s event.

Hopefest is Hope Lutheran Church’s grand party for the congregation and community in the Fall, where fun with a purpose best expresses what it’s about. Hopefest Weekend is a two-day celebration taking place annually on the first weekend in October.

Events include a Craft Fair, Bake Sale, Tea Room, Silent Auction, a barbeque, and Children’s Games.

On Saturday, the Craft Fair runs from 9 am to 4 pm along with the silent auction. Chara Christian Dance will perform from 10:30 to 11 am. The tea room will be open from 11 am to 2 pm.

On Sunday, the church’s two worship services are at 8 am and 10 am. The Craft Fair and silent auction will be open from 9 am to 3 pm. Children’s games will be held from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

Barbecue lunches will be served from 11 am to 1 pm.

A Blood Mobile will be on site from  9 am to 1 pm.

While the theme of Hopefest is fun, the church’s goal is service to others. Hopefest is a major outreach event for the church that began in Friendswood in 1962.

All monies received from the activities are used to fund local charities and congregational outreach. The charities include Family Promise, League City; Christian Helping Hands; The Mercy Tree; and Adult and Teen Challenge of Texas, Pasadena.
