The Keep Pearland Beautiful Plant Thyme Fall Luncheon will be held October 18 at First
Methodist Church at 2314 Grand Blvd. in Pearland.
Grady McGahan, RETREET Founder/Executive Director, is this year’s keynote speaker.
McGahan’s RETREET is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides disaster relief to communities on a local, national, and international level. The organization leads volunteers in restoring decimated urban forests. The charity engages community memberse to replant lost trees.
McGahan is a 2015 graduate of Municipal Forestry Institute, the president of Texas Urban Forestry Council, and an at-large commissioner for the City of Dallas’ Arts & Culture Advisory Commission.
Also at the event, a native and adaptive plant sale will be held continuing through the afternoon until 5 pm.
On Saturday, October 19, the plant sale relocates to the Stella Roberts Recycling Center at 5800 Magnolia Parkway from 9 am to 1 pm.
