Pearland has a new business that is run 100 percent by veterans. It’s Fresh Coat Painters and it opened this month in October. Business owners are Steve and Renee Saenz.
Saenz retired from the Navy and worked several years doing electric IT work for Houston refineries. He always dreamed about owning his own business and helping local veterans at the same time.
While Steve was in the Navy, his wife Renee owned a cleaning company. With her background in the home services industry and his goal to own a service-oriented business, the two selected Fresh Coat Painters, a new business for Pearland that would be run by veterans.
“I did a lot of google searches, contacted the Small Business Development Center for help and attended a franchise expo at the NRG center. I actually ran into Fresh Coat there,” Saenz said.
The Saenz family loved the Fresh Coat Cares program and community involvement it offered.
Since 2004, Fresh Coat Painters has been serving home and business owners with outstanding painting services at affordable rates. Qualified painters do interior and exterior work for residences or commercial buildings. Fresh Coat businesses offer free firm quotes for every project.
“We opened doors on October 1, 2019. Our grand opening is TBD. Our business hours will be generally from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. However, we’re glad to accommodate our customer’s needs in special situations,” Saenz said.
After everything that the Navy had provided for him, he decided his business would be 100 percent run by veterans.
“The U.S. Navy gave hope to a young Texan boy with little or no moral compass. I had no concept of core values and community. The military instilled a strong ethical code in my heart. Why wouldn’t you want such a character at the foundation of your team?” Saenz said. Call (979) 200-6748 to set up an appointment or to get more information.
