NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PEARLAND EMERGENCY ROTATION WRECKER APPLICANT, AMERICAN WRECKER OF PEARLAND,

PURSUANT TO PEARLAND CODE OF ORDINANCE, 31-4

Notice is hereby given that on the 6th day of November, 2019, at 9:30 a.m., the Wrecker Director (Pearland Chief of Police), will conduct a Public Hearing at the Pearland Police Department, 2555 Cullen Pkwy, Pearland, Texas, to gather public comment and testimony regarding an application (Longs Wrecker) of a Pearland Emergency Wrecker Rotation slot. Those attending please meet on the second floor (Administration Lobby) of the Police Department.

At said hearing all interested parties shall have the right and opportunity to appear and be heard on the subject.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS

BID NO. 2019-05

LIFT STATION #23 RECONSTRUCTION

Bids shall be submitted in triplicate and in sealed envelopes clearly marked with Bid No. 2019-05, and addressed to the City of Friendswood, Attn: Melinda Welsh, City Secretary, and will be received at Friendswood City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX, 77546 before 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 14, 2019.

All bids shall be accompanied by a cashier’s check upon a national or state bank in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount payable to the owner, or a bid bond in the same amount from a surety company authorized to do business in Texas as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute bonds within fifteen (15) days after notice of award. The City of Friendswood reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in bids received. The City of Friendswood pays for goods and services according to the provisions of Chapter 2251 of the Government Code.

Pearland Independent School District will be accepting Request for Proposals (RFP) for the following:

RFP 20-1113-02 for Property and Casualty Insurance are due

November 13, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. CST

RFP 20-1115-01 for Branding Services are due

November 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. CST

Interested proposers may go to https://pearlandisd.ionwave.net  and register to download the solicitation or call 281-485-3203.  Proposers are encouraged to submit a response electronically via the District’s e-bid system but may submit by hardcopy by the aforementioned date and time.

ORDINANCE NO. 1107-1

An ordinance of the city council of the City of Pearland, Texas, amending Chapter 30, Utilities, of the City of Pearland Code of Ordinances, as it may have been, from time to time, to amend Article V, Cross-Connection Control and Prevention; having a savings clause, a severability clause, and a repealer clause; and providing for codification and an effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:

(d) Penalty.

(1) A person who violates any provision of this article is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction is punishable as set forth in section 1-11, for each violation and for each day or part of a day during which the violation is committed, continued or permitted.

(2) In addition to the authority of subsection (d)(1) of this section, the city shall be entitled to pursue all other criminal and civil remedies to which is entitled under authority of statues or other ordinances against a person committing any violation of this article including injunction and civil penalties.

(e) Water service disconnection. Water service may be disconnected when a person and/or business fails to comply with the city’s Cross Connection Program. Customers shall receive (by mail) an annual test notice reminder, a second test notice reminder and a final test notice informing the customer that the water will be disconnected if testing is not completed by the specified date contained in the notice.

(f) Revocation of registration. A certified testers’ registration may be reviewed and revoked by the city for a period of six (6) months if the City determines that the tester:

(1) Falsely, incompletely, or inaccurately reported assembly reports;

(2) Used inaccurate gauges;

(3) Used improper testing procedures; or

(4) Created a threat to public health or the environment

(5)  Refuses to perform a retest and/or pay appropriate retest fees for assemblies tested without a valid city registration.
