Intersection Improvements – Windward Bay Dr. at Broadway St.

City of Pearland, Texas

The project will entail the construction of intersection improvements for Windward Bay Drive and Broadway Street including construction of a fully actuated traffic signal, extension and widening of existing eastbound and westbound left turn lanes, traffic signage, pavement markings. The project also includes installation and testing of fiber optic cable via 4” ITS Multiduct, communication ground boxes, and fiber markers along Broadway Street from Shadow Creek High School to Windward Bay Drive. Fiber interconnect will be provided to three traffic signals along Broadway Street (including Windward Bay Drive signal). As alternate bid items, the project includes the construction of left turn lanes at two additional locations in the City of Pearland: Pearland Parkway at Oak Ridge, and Dixie Farm Road near Long Oak Drive.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the City of Pearland City Hall Annex at 3523 Liberty Drive, Pearland, Texas 77581 at 10:00 a.m. on December 5, 2019.

The project will entail the installation of approximately 3,430 LF of 12-inch trunk sewer via open cut excavation, approximately 220 LF of 12-inch trunk sewer via trenchless construction, 13 – 4-foot diameter sanitary sewer manholes, and all associated appurtenances. Roadway construction is ongoing for the Hughes Ranch Road Expansion.  All work associated with this project must be coordinated with the Hughes Ranch Road Expansion to prevent any delays in either the roadway project or this sanitary sewer project.  The project requires a signed and sealed traffic control plan for City approval prior to commencement of construction.  Site restoration will include temporary asphalt pavement for traffic access.
