ORDINANCE NO. 300

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC ON THE PUBLIC STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS; CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY TRAFFIC DIRECTOR; PRESCRIBING THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY TRAFFIC DIRECTOR; PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES REGULATING SPEED, TURNING MOVEMENT, CROSSWALKS, DIRECTION OF MOVEMENT, STOPPING AND YEILDING, PARKING, AND CLASS AND TYPE OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON CERTAIN STREETS; CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR SEVER  ABILITY

A. It is unlawful for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required in this ordinance.

B. No person shall willfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of a police officer or fire department official.

C. Use of coasters, roller skates and similar devices restricted

D. When signs are in place giving notice of the speed limit, shall be prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable and prudent and that it is unlawful.

E. No driver shall enter an intersection or a marked crosswalk unless there is sufficient space to accommodate the vehicle he is operating without obstructing the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians

F. No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle for any purpose other than for the expeditious loading or unloading of passengers in any place marked as a passenger loading zone

G. No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle for any purpose other   than for the expeditious unloading and delivery or pick-up and loading of property in any place marked as a loading zone

H. Penalty – Fined in an amount not to exceed $200

BRAZORIA COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 5

The Board of Commissioners (“Board”) of BRAZORIA COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 5 met in regular session, open to the public on January 10, 2020 at the Westside Event Center, 2150 Country Place Parkway, Pearland, Texas 77584, at which a quorum of said Board was present as follows:

The project will entail providing Construction Materials Testing Services in connection with the  construction of the City of Pearland’s 10 Million Gallon per Day Surface Water Treatment Plant and Transmission Pipelines.  The project site is located 3720 CR 48, Rosharon, TX 77853.

A Mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting will be held at the City of Pearland, City Hall, 3519 Liberty Drive., Pearland, Texas in the Council Chambers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16th,  2020. Attendance of this meeting is a requirement for submitting a qualified response in conjunction with this request.

Each Responder is required to submit a Qualifications Packet. The Qualification Packet should be submitted via the City’s E-bid System located on the City’s website at: https://pearland.ionwave.net/Login.aspx. All interested Responders are advised to register as a “supplier” on the City’s E-Bid System at the above website by clicking on “Supplier Registration” and completing a short registration questionnaire. Electronic Response Documents and Forms are available for download after registration is approved by City Purchasing office.  No fees or deposits are required for RFQ documents obtained through the City’s E-Bid System. ORDINANCE NO. 2019-47

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 82 – “TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES,” BY ADDING SECTION 82-10, REGULATING HOURS OF MOVEMENT OF OVERSIZE VEHICLES AND ADDING A DEFINITION FOR “OVERSIZE VEHICLE”; ADDING SECTION 82-11, PROHIBITING CERTAIN OVERSIZE VEHICLES IN THE DOWNTOWN DISTRICT; ADDING SECTION 82-12, REQUIRING PERMITTED OVERSIZE VEHICLES TO CONTACT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO MOVEMENT OF AN OVERSIZED VEHICLE WITHIN THE CITY; PROVIDING A PENALTY CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT OR IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A. No oversize vehicle may be operated on a public street within the city between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday of any week.

B. It is unlawful for any person to operate any oversize vehicle exceeding 14 feet in height in the designated Downtown District.

C. Any permitted oversize vehicle entering the City of Friendswood must give notice to the Friendswood Police Department at least 24 hours in advance.

D. Penalty – Fined in an amount not to exceed $2,000.00
