Parks Dept. wants city to Pack-the-Park for St. Patrick’s Day

Pearland Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to attend St. Patty’s Day Pack-The-Park on March 17 in Independence Park from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

It is s new Pack the Park Free Programming event and offers dinner and fun activities for all ages. All activities will have a St. Patrick’s Day theme. The Parks Department has planned fun and relaxing activities for everyone to join in, unwind after work, take a break from homework and just have fun.

The Parks Department is hosting the event to hear from residents on which free programs they would like to see held at the park and when should the department offer them.

  One activity planned so far for the Pack the Park event is 4-leaf clover searches. Participants will search through nature to find the rare four leaf clover. There will be Recreation Center Natatorium Guest pass giveaways for those who find them 
 Tandem bike rides will be offered to try out the department’s tandem bikes to ride together in teams. 
 Fan favorite Archery Tag will be played.  
 There will also be a St. Patrick’s themed craft activity. Participants will work with the library staff to create a fun craft. This activity is hosted by the West side Library.  
   Premier Martial Arts will offer a Ladies’ Self Defense course. This class will provide instruction and increase awareness regarding keeping safe and prepared at all times. 
 Classic and popular Parachute Games are part of the event fun too. Participants will gather around the top of the hill for a trip down memory lane as all play the classic parachute games

Food will be available through the food truck on site, Foreign Policy.
