CLASSIC BOOKS DISCUSSION

Join us in August 21 our exploration of what many consider to be the greatest novel ever written. Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina is a dazzling panorama of late 19th Century Russia. More than just a story about a compelling love affair, the novel’s characters reveal immense psychological depth and interpersonal subtleties. From members of the Russian Aristocracy to landowners, farmers, to intellectuals, businessmen, and peasants, Tolstoy represents every station of life in the Russia of his time. We will discuss Emperor Alexander II’s Russia, Tolstoy’s life, as well as explore themes and in-depth character analyses in Anna Karenina. Meetings are held monthly at the Friendswood Library, 2pm to 3pm.
