Miller Outdoor Theatre Presents Family Funk Festival

Come celebrate with the Community Music Center of Houston (CMCH) during their 40th anniversary Ruby Jubilee as they present the Family Funk Festival – a celebration of the greatest hits of the “Funk” era. The concert begins with Houston’s great musicians performing hits from Parliament, Funkadelic, George Clinton, The Gap Band, and more.
The festival will be headlined by the legendary Howard Scott who scored many hits in the ‘60s and ‘70s including “Spill the Wine”, “All Day Music”,“Why Can’t We Be Friends?”, “Galaxy”, and The World is a Ghetto”, and also co-wrote “The Cisco Kid” and “Slippin’ Into Darkness”.
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.. If tickets remain at 1:00 p.m., the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill. The show goes on rain or shine.
