In an effort to service the needs of all Alvin ISD families, the Board of Trustees recently approved a change in location for the March 10 and June 9, 2015 school board meetings, to Rodeo Palms Junior High in Manvel; rather than the normal location in Alvin.
The District, which spans more than 250 square miles, serves students in multiple cities across Brazoria County, including Pearland, Rosharon, Iowa Colony and Manvel, to name a few. From the furthest point in the district it can take up to 30 minutes to get to the Alvin ISD Central Administration Building to attend a board meeting, which is why the Board of Trustees like to take the meetings on the road, when possible.
“Our goal is to simply provide outstanding service to the students and parents that we serve,” mentioned Dr. Buck Gilcrease, superintendent of schools.
All community members are welcome to attend the regular meetings. To stay up-to-date on future board meetings and other happenings in Alvin ISD, visit www.alvinsid.net.
