The Manvel/Alvin community is gearing up for the 7th annual Alvin Music Festival and Cook-off March 23-24 at Briscoe Park in Alvin. Alvin Sunrise Rotary Foundation is sponsoring the event.

Entertainment for Friday includes Booth and Company at 6 p.m., the Drugstore Gypsies at 8 p.m. and Kevin Fowler at 10 p.m.

Saturday entertainment will be Promising Lies at 2 p.m., Alvin’s Junior Gordon at 4 p.m., RaeLynn at 6 p.m., The Spazmatics at 8 p.m. and Kyle Park at 10 p.m.

Headliner Kyle Park is a Texas country singer-songwriter and music producer from Austin, Texas. Park writes and produces his own music, and performs more than 175 shows a year with his band.

The annual festival promises great music, an IBCA sanctioned cook off, activities for kids, good food and beverages. Kids will have inflatables and miniature golf areas.

Tickets are $15 Friday and $20 Saturday for adults with $30 for a weekend pass. Military discount will be $5 off with valid ID. Children ages 0-5 are free and those 6-12 are $5 a day.

Gate hours are Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Briscoe Park is located at 3201 S. Hwy. 35 and 3265 Briscoe Drive in Alvin.

The Alvin Sunrise Rotary Foundaton Raffle for this year’s first prize is a 2018 Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT and Big Texas 50 LA 12 foot Trailer. The winner will be announced at the festival.

Proceeds from the festival were used to support the following organizations: Alvin and Manvel High School Scholarships, Alvin Animal Shelter, Alvin Community College Foundation, Alvin Family Community Center, Alvin ISD FFA, Alvin Food Pantry, ALivn Interact Par for Polio Golf Tournament, Alvin ISD Education Foundation, Alvin Junior High Seaperch Program, Alvin Library League, Alvin Meals on Wheels, Alvin Parks and Recreation equipment and picnic tables, Alvin Youth Sports Program, Brazoria County Fair Livestock Auction, and Thelma Ley Anderson Family YMCA.
