Pearland Rotary is preparing for the 48th Annual Rotary Golf for Charity event and has started registration at www.PearlandRo-taryGolf.com.
The tournament is at Golfcrest Country Club on Thursday, May 9. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start for the tournament will be at noon.
The awards dinner will follow the tournament in the club banquet room.
The event’s Hot Dog Man is returning for lunch along with a frozen margarita machine, Jello shots tent, cigar tent, chair massage, popcorn machine, snow cone machine and a disc jockey.
The tournament registration features golf and cart, goody bag, range balls for practice, lunch and refreshments on the course throughout the day, awards reception dinner and auction. With all online registration, participants will receive a one-year subscription to Golf Digest.
Returning this year will be the Closest to the Pin Guaranteed Cruise winner, fireball challenge, longest drive and putting contest.
The tournament benefits the many activities by Rotary Club which includes giving Dare to Excel scholarships for all three high schools, hosting Winter Wonderland dinner and dance for special needs adults, purchasing livestock at the Pearland Show from FFA and 4-H students, purchasing and maintaining defibrillators for Pearland schools, and sponsoring local blood drives, Garden Club at Pearland Jr. High West, and Guerrero Clinic. Rotary also provides and delivers Valentines to residents at Windsong Village and supports Westside Spray Park.
