A. A junked vehicle, including a part of a junked vehicle, that is located in any place where it is visible from a public place or public right-of-way is detrimental to the safety and welfare of the general public and such vehicles are hereby declared to be a public nuisance.
B. Any person who maintains a nuisance as described in this article shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $200.00 pursuant to section 1-14. In addition, upon conviction, the court shall order removal and abatement of the nuisance, which order may be enforced by any means authorized by the laws of the state.

The project will entail the construction of approximately 3.45 miles of 4-lane, divided urban roadway along McHard Road between Cullen Boulevard and Mykawa Road. This project will include the construction of a 10-foot wide shared use path, storm sewer system and detention ponds, intersection signalization, roadway lighting conduit and foundations, fiber optic conduit, landscaping and irrigation, and installation of signs and pavement markings. Other work includes site preparation, earthwork, signing and pavement markings, and other ancillary work. The project is administered by the City of Pearland following TxDOT Local Government Project Procedures. Contractor must adhere to all federal requirements in Form FHWA-1273, Buy America, and TxDOT’s DBE and Title VI Program as well as other federal guidelines.

A. No person shall conduct, permit or allow any activity or sound source to produce a sound that is discernible beyond the property lines of the property on which the sound is being received that when measured exceeds the applicable dB(A) level listed on residential property of Sixty-five (65) dB(A) during daytime hours or Fifty-eight (58) dB(A) during nighttime hours and on nonresidential property of Seventy (70) dB(A) during either daytime or nighttime hours.
B. It shall be unlawful for any person to make, assist in making, permit, continue, cause to be made or continued or permit the continuance of any sound which either exceeds the maximum permitted sound levels specified otherwise unreasonably disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others within the limits of the City.
C. Use of any automobile, motorcycle, or other vehicle so out of repair, so loaded, so as to create loud and unreasonable grating, grinding, rattling or any other loud and unreasonable sound is declared to be unlawful.
D. Amplified sound from motor vehicle that produces sound in excess of the limits set is hereby prohibited and declared to be unlawful as a sound nuisance.
E. Keeping of any animal or bird which causes or makes frequent or long and continued sound which unreasonably disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of ordinary, reasonable persons of normal sensibilities and ordinary tastes who reside in the vicinity thereof is hereby prohibited.
F. No person shall use any sound amplifier or any other machine or device which produces, reproduces, or amplifies sound outside of buildings or other enclosed structures in a manner which exceeds the levels specified without first obtaining a permit.
G. Penalty – a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). Upon a second or subsequent conviction within a twelve-month period fined not less than $100.00 nor more than $2,000.00.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 30, FIRE PROTECTION AND PREVENTION, BY AMENDING SECTION 30-84 ENTITLED “INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE ADOPTED;AMENDMENTS” AND AMENDING SECTION 30-118 ENTITLED “LIFE SAFETY CODE ADOPTED”; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
A. It is an offense to violate any provision of the International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, including amendments herein, including appendices B through N, excluding J.
B. It is an offense to violate any provision of the 2018 Edition of the Life Safety Code, including all appendices and amendments herein.
C. Penalty- a fine not to exceed $2,000.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY REASON OWNING OR HAVING POSSESSION OR CONTROL OF A RESIDENCE OR OTHER PREMISE TO ALLOW SUCH RESIDENCE OR PREMISE TO BE USED BY MINORS FOR SOCIAL FUNCTIONS (PARTIES) WHEN SUCH PERSON KNOWS OR SHOULD KNOW THAT ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR DRUGS ARE IN THE POSESSION OF, OR ARE BEING CONSUMED BY, ANY MINOR IN ATTENDANCE AT SUCH SOCIAL FUNCTION (PARTY); PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS; REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $500 FOR EACH VIOLATION HEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
A. It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having possession or control of a residence or premise to allow an open party to take place at such residence or premise if alcoholic beverages or drugs are possessed, consumed, or used by any minor.
B. Penalty – fined in an amount not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).

ON MAY 2, 2020
A General Election will be held on May 2, 2020 to elect a Board Member to Positions #1, #2 and #5.
Filing will be held from January 15,2020 – February 14, 2020.
