Mayoral candidate for Pearland, Gary Moore has withdrawn his candidacy for Mayor.

He announced this July 6 on his Facebook page.

He reported that he was unable and unwilling to run the type of race he felt was acceptable.

“Many variables have helped me make this very difficult decision,” he wrote.

He thanked his supporters and told everyone that he looks forward to serving the community in other ways.

Moore is currently serving on the Pearland City Council.

The election was previously planned for May but was postponed due to the pandemic. The new date is November 3, 2020.

The remaining two candidates for Pearland Mayor are Quentin Wiltz and Kevin Cole.
