Pearland High School Students Medal at State Academic Decathlon Competition

Congratulations to the Academic Decathlon team from Pearland High School for a strong finish at the state competition February 25-26 in San Antonio. PHS decathletes placed fourth in the large-school division.
The following students brought home individual awards:
Honors Division:
• Brayden Anderson – Bronze in Music and Silver in Social Science
• Sophie Adams – Bronze in Art and Bronze in Social Science
Also competing in the honors division was Amy Decker.

Scholastic Division:
• Mason Arnold – Gold in Math and Bronze in Science
• Austin Nathans – Gold in Math

Varsity Division:
• Trent Gorman – Bronze in Social Science
• Daniel Nguyen-Hoang – Bronze in Art
Also competing in the varsity division was Dyllan Comer.

Coaches include Robert Layne, Lisa Atieno, Harley Simms and Ellen Lachney.
