Erenwert Seeks 2nd Term on City Council, Position 6

Date:

Friendswood is a special place to me. I got to sit in personally and learn in the building that is now the school museum. As one of the several graduates of Friendswood High School on our city council, I graduated in 1998 and have seen this city grow, develop, prosper, and continue to show why Friendswood is the best place to live. I have been married 18 years and have two beautiful daughters, aged 15 and 12, attending FISD schools. Growing up in Friendswood, I have seen this city evolve over the years from a small town to a suburb community. It is exciting to see all the upcoming projects that I have personally had the opportunity and voted for within our city while serving you all on the council. I will always run a self-funded campaign, not because I can but because I believe this is a volunteer and privileged position to be elected to sit up here. Every decision that I make is one that I feel is best for ALL of Friendswood. My focuses over the years have never changed. Those are budgeting and forecasting focused on the taxpayer, understanding sustainable economic growth, focusing on top priorities, and public safety. I also believe we must continue to seek out more community facilities to help and benefit our youth, our senior citizens, and everyone between. It is rewarding in this town to see how our historical past has been vital in positioning us for a prosperous future.

Aside from the council, I am the CEO of Brothers Produce and the Founder / CEO of Houston Cold Storage. After 2020, I do not consider myself a produce expert but a supply chain expert. I could tell you all my work performance there, or I can say that on March 12, 2020, I lost 80% of my business and had over 300 employees, and we not only survived it but came out stronger without laying off employees. I was side by side on the front lines with my people in the most challenging time this world and my industry has ever seen. I consider myself a servant leader who believes in working side by side with others in anything, not just my job.

Good things do not fail because they are underperforming. I believe they fail because they don’t evolve. I think this insight and vision are why my business background and skill set are assets to this council as we, as a community, focus on our future. Aside from Brothers Produce, I am very actively involved with many schools, charities, food banks, food shelters, animal shelters, and several organizations throughout the year. I sit on several boards across the city and country, broadening my knowledge and network on various topics. Fundraising, volunteering, and charity work are major passions that drive me. I love people and making them smile.

It has been an honor representing the great city of Friendswood and getting to know the staff and many other amazing people in our community. I enjoy learning from the leaders and residents of our past and listening to today’s new residents and youth on what they envision Friendswood looking like years after we are all gone. Everyone has a different vision, but the best path and direction will always fall somewhere in between. I am so excited to see how far this city has come over the years and look forward to seeing and being a part of our city as we continue to adapt, progress, and evolve for the future.

I look forward to meeting all of you and would love face-to-face meetings or phone calls with anyone open to learning more or understanding who I am and why I believe you all elected an excellent person to sit on your council. I hope you all will vote in May to re-elect me to the Friendswood City Council, as it has been an honor to serve you all.
