Parks Department gears up for Celebration of Freedom events

Plans for the annual Fourth of July event in Pearland, Celebration of Freedom, are underway.

The date is July 4, 2022 from 6 to 10 pm at Independence Park at 3449 Pearland Parkway. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

The event will feature live music from the variety band, Adrian Michael and the Greenway Band, on the H-E-B Entertainment Stage and a spectacular fireworks display.

For health and safety reasons, pets are not allowed at this event, with the exception of service animals. Smoking is prohibited. Outside food and drinks, including alcohol, are allowed but glass containers are prohibited. No tailgating or barbecuing will be allowed in the park or on school property during this event.

Activities will include Presentation of Colors, strolling entertainment, food trucks, vendor and sponsor booths and giveaways.

Event parking will be available at Pearland High School at 3775 S. Main Street. A limited lot with accessible parking will be located inside the park on a first come, first serve basis. Drivers should enter from Liberty Drive.

A limited number of booth spaces are available for this event.

Applications are available at https://www.parks.pearlandtx.gov/special-events/celebration-of-freedom#!/ and reviewed and approved in the order received. Completed forms may be emailed to events@pearlandtx.gov or dropped off at the Recreation Center & Natatorium, 4141 Bailey Road.

In addition to Parks & Recreation staff, volunteers help make the event successful. Anyone interested in volunteering and are over 16 years old, can sign up. All roles are active and outdoors, and will require standing and walking and some lifting. Email  volunteers@pearlandtx.gov for more information.
