Shadow Creek senior Kameryn Phillips led the Lady Sharks to a 40-31 playoff win over the Deer Park Lady Deer in a Class 6A Region III second-round matchup.
Phillips scored 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead all scorers while getting help from Nyla Price who tossed in nine points.
Shadow Creek jumped out to a 12-6 first quarter lead and never looked back as Phillips scored nine points to pace the Lady Sharks.
The second quarter saw the Lady Sharks outscore the Lady Deer 12-9 for a 24-15 halftime advantage.
Deer Parks took the third quarter 9-8 to close the gap 33-24.
The Lady Sharks edged the Lady Deer in the final period 8-7 to post the 40-31 final score.
Shadow Creek hit 12-of-25 free throws while Deer Park was 8-of-12 from the charity stripe.
Shadow Creek 49 – Clear Creek 40
The Shadow Creek Lady Sharks opened up the Class 6A Region III playoffs with an opening round win over the Clear Creek Lady Wildcats 49-40.
The Lady Sharks outscored the Lady Wildcats 13-10 in the opening period and doubled the Clear Creek output 12-6 in the second quarter for a 25-16 lead at intermission.
The third quarter belonged to Shadow Creek 12-8 for a 37-24 advantage entering the final quarter.
Clear Creek attempted a comeback with a 16-12 final period, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Sharks held on for the 49-40 playoff win.
Kameryn Phillips led the Shadow Creek offense with a game-high 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and five steals.
Payton Holmes tossed in 10 points.
