Burglary
June 26 (3:08 p.m.) A citizen found and recovered six credit/debit cards from the roadway in the 4900 block of FM 2351. The owner of the credit cards was contacted and advised that his vehicle was burglarized, and his wallet was stolen.
The victim’s vehicle was burglarized at the Baywood Apartments located at 5025 FM 2351. The vehicle was parked at 8:00 p.m. on June 25th. A window on the vehicle was found broken at 9:00 a.m. on June 26th. Six out of eleven credit cards were recovered. One of the stolen credit cards was used at a Shell gas station in Houston.
Theft
June 28 (5:13 p.m.) A 24-year-old O’Reilly’s store employee was terminated and charged with Theft. The employee was accused of stealing oil, a filter, and beverages over a 6-month period. He was issued a citation and escorted from the property.
Fraud
June 26 (10:56 a.m.) A Friendswood man is the victim of identity theft. He received a letter at his workplace showing that an application for unemployment benefits was filed using his personal identifying information. The Texas Workforce Commission was contacted.
June 26 (12:56 p.m.) A Friendswood man was checking his account online when he noticed four fraudulent charges. The victim still had his credit cards in his possession at the time of the fraud. The fraudulent charges were made at Six Flags San Antonio and Lagoonfest Concierge in Texas City.
June 29 (7:53 a.m.) An officer took possession of three counterfeit $100 bills that were passed at Kroger, 151 N. Friendswood Drive. Security cameras captured the transactions. A black male made two different transactions the prior evening. He purchased some groceries, paid using a counterfeit $100 bill and was given change.
He left the store and immediately went to the Kroger gas station, where he paid for fuel and cigarettes and was able to pass two more counterfeit $100 bills. Prior to the transactions at this Kroger store, he attempted to pass the counterfeit currency at the Kroger at 3135 FM 528, but was turned away.
June 29 (11:32 a.m.) A Friendswood woman believes that her email was hacked and the passwords to several of her accounts were changed. Currently, the victim is not out any money, but is taking precautions to protect sensitive accounts.
June 29 (12:46 p.m.) A check that was placed in a Friendswood home mailbox was intercepted, altered, and cashed. The original check was changed from $128 to $7300, and the check was changed and made out to someone named Aaron Wyatt.
June 30 (11:52 a.m.) A Friendswood woman’s identity was used to obtain AT&T Uverse service at an address in Addision, TX. She has never lived in Addison or had an AT&T Uverse account.
June 30 (6:40 p.m.) A teenage boy attempted to pass a $100 bill at Kroger located at 151 N. Friendswood Drive. He was at the self-check-out attempting to purchase a $50 Roblox gift card and a Dr. Pepper Cherry Zero.
A manager viewed the $100 bill that was clearly marked with the work “copy”. The juvenile was allowed to leave the store without identifying himself or waiting for law enforcement to arrive.
Assault
June 29 (2:53 p.m.) A 24 year old Friendswood man was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury-Strangulation – Family Violence. Officers were called to investigate an assault that occurred in the 500 block of Mary Ann Drive. The parties were separated, and the vehicle was able to go to a safe place to meet with an officer. The man is accused of assaulting and strangling his wife.
July 2 (9:33 p.m.) A 43 year old male, of Friendswood, was charged with Deadly Conduct – Discharging a Firearm. Officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 800 block of Tanglewood Drive. The man’s girlfriend reported that he discharged a firearm inside the home.
The man and his girlfriend were arguing earlier in the day and the police were called. They agreed to stay away from each other, but later in the evening, they began arguing again. At some point, the gun was discharged. The gun was later retrieved from inside the house.
Narcotics
June 28 (1:05 a.m.) An 18 year old from Pearland was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at the Corporal Wesley Canning Park located in the 1500 block of Stonewall Pass Road.
The teen was in the driver’s seat, his brother was in the passenger seat. During the contact, the officer observed a vape pen in plain view inside the vehicle and a clear baggie containing trash on the ground just outside the driver’s door.
The teen exited the vehicle, revealing a second vape pen in the driver’s seat. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. The teen was arrested; the passenger was issued a citation and turned over to the custody of his mother.
June 29 (8:36 a.m.) A 41 year old man and 46 year old woman, of Alvin, were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. While stopped for expired registration in the 400 block of W. Edgewood Drive, the man and woman were found to have outstanding Alvin warrants.
The warrants were confirmed, and they were taken into custody. During a search, the woman was found to be in possession of a glass meth pipe. The officer began a search of the vehicle and found another glass pipe and a crystal methamphetamine.
June 29 (11:01 p.m.) A 45 year old man, of Channelview, was stopped in the 700 block of W. Parkwood Avenue for driving with vehicle registration that expired in 2019. As the vehicle came to a stop, the officer witnessed the passenger toss a small black bag and a small white bag out of the vehicle. During the contact, the officer realized that the license plate on the registration sticker did not match the license plate on the vehicle.
The officer checked the driver’s license and found that he had an outstanding warrant in Harris County for resisting arrest. Another officer picked up the discarded black and white bag. The white bag contained a pipe and methamphetamine residue. The black bag contained crack cocaine. A female passenger, 61, of Channelview, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 and Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence. She was the person who threw the contraband out of the vehicle.
A male passenger, 54, of Channelview, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The driver was arrested for the outstanding warrant. During an inventory of the vehicle, the officers found electronics that still contained the ani-theft devices.
July 2 (12:30 p.m.) A 36 year old Houston man was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The man was stopped for expired registration in the 4000 block of FM 2351. During the contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was conducted; marijuana and cocaine were found.
Traffic
July 1 (4:22 p.m.) A 39 year old from Deer Park was charged with Driving While License Invalid in the 1100 block of S. Friendswood Drive. The man was stopped for a license plate violation. He had a suspended driver’s license.
July 2 (8:40 p.m.) A 24 year old male, of Friendswood, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3 and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. With him was a 24 year old Houston man who was charged with No Driver’s License and No Seat Belt.
The driver was stopped for a license plate violation in the 100 block of W. Edgewood Drive. During the contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana. A search was conducted resulting in he seizure of Alprazolam, alcohol, a gun, and a THC vape.
Other Incidents
June 26 (8:02 a.m.) A 63-year-old Friendswood woman was attacked by two dogs during her morning walk. A witness intervened and was able to get the dogs off the woman. Another witness used a vehicle to separate the dogs from the woman. When officers arrived, they found the dogs in the 16500 block of Barcelona at their home.
An animal control officer arrived but was unable to contain the dogs. Eventually, a resident of the home put the dogs in a garage. When the owner of the dogs arrived, he was issued two citations for Animal at Large.
