Burglary

Sept. 24 (9:29 p.m.) A burglary of an apartment unit was reported at The Reserve at Autumn Creek located at 3102 W. Bay Area Blvd. The victim was away from the apartment between 2:10 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. When he returned several electronics were stolen. The front door had pry marks and a window was broken.

Criminal Mischief

Sept. 23 (5:51 p.m.) A report of criminal mischief was made in the 200 block of Magnolia Street. A disturbance the night prior landed the victim’s roommate and the roommate’s sister in jail. When they returned home to move the roommate out the television was intentionally damaged.

Sept. 24 (6:49 p.m.) A vehicle was damaged during a disturbance in the parking lot of Kroger, 3135 FM 528. The victim was sitting inside his vehicle in the fire lane when a 53-year-old Houston man approached, knocked on the window, then began pulling on the side mirror causing damage.

Fraud

Sept. 18 (2:05 p.m.) A text from a wrong number led to a crypto-currency scam leaving the victim out $60,000. The victim was led to the Whats App after having a conversation with a person who texted the wrong number. The suspect provided information to the victim about a business venture involving the investment of funds in Coinbase, Uphold, Faiceacti.vip, and Bitcspil.vip.

Sept. 18 (3:59 p.m.) A Friendswood woman reported sixty-five fraudulent transactions on her Chase credit card account between February and August. A suspect has been identified.
Sept. 19 (11:40 a.m.) A Friendswood man discovered that his identity was stolen when his accountant tried to file his taxes and the filing was rejected.

Overdose

Sept. 22 (4:41 p.m.) Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of Brandywyne. When they arrived, they found a 49-year-old male in the back yard, face down, and who appeared to have overdosed. Officers administered a dose of Naloxone (Narcan) to revive the man. The house was in disarray and there was broken glass. Medics transported the man to the hospital. There were no other people at the home at the time of the overdose.

Identity Theft Case Update

Investigators with the Friendswood Police Department have identified four suspects who have been fraudulently using several individual’s personal identifying information to lease high-end apartments and homes and then subletting them to collect the funds around the state of Texas. The suspects fraudulently used the individual’s names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers.

During the course of the investigation, Friendswood Police Department discovered there were also victims in several other jurisdictions. Friendswood investigators coordinated efforts with the Galveston Police Department, Houston Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Dallas Police Department to identify the three suspects. Arrest warrants have been issued for Dredevon Ringo, Damarcus Ringo, Mayailuv Strain, and Treslyn Joubert through Galveston County.

The Friendswood Police Department urges the public to regularly check their credit reports to monitor for this type of theft and report any fraudulent activity to their local law enforcement agency.

Arrests

A woman, 53, of Friendswood, was charged with Failure to Signal Turn and Improper Turn.

A man, 20, of Friendswood, was charged with Failure to Stop at Stop Sign.

A woman, 23, of Alvin, was charged with Public Intoxication.

A woman, 19, of Friendswood, was charged with Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.

A woman, 18, of Pearland, was charged with Interference with a City Officer or Employee.

A man, 22, of Friendswood, was charged with Unsafe Backing after striking two different vehicles, including a police unit.

A man, 30, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
