Proposed changes to the plan for State Highway 99 in Brazoria and Galveston counties will be the topic of upcoming public meetings hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation.
A public meeting and open house is scheduled this Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Alvin High Cafeteria, 802 S. Johnson St., Alvin.
A second meeting is 5 p.m. Oct. 17 at Lobit Elementary, 1251 FM 517 in Dickinson.
Postcards stating incorrect dates were mailed to residents, according to TxDOT. The department states those meetings are indeed set for this Thursday, Oct. 12, and Tuesday, Oct. 17.
The design changes addressed in the upcoming meetings are between Interstate 45 and FM 2403.
“TxDOT is providing the public an opportunity to discuss and comment on the improvements along State Highway 35 from North Gordon St. to Steele Road in Brazoria County,” the agency states in a release.
For those unable to attend meetings, a virtual presentation is available online at tinyurl.com/99virtualmeeting. Questions about the project development process can be directed to 713-802-5254.
