Friendswood Police Department Ushers in New Era with Chief Josh Rogers at the Helm

The Friendswood Police Department has ushered in a new era of leadership, appointing Josh Rogers as the new Chief of Police. The City Council officially sanctioned this pivotal transition on November 6th, marking a significant milestone in the department’s history. Chief Rogers, a stalwart member of the Friendswood Police Department for 24 years, has ascended to this role after serving most recently as Deputy Chief.

Following Chief Rogers’ promotion, the department announced the appointment of a new Deputy Chief of Police, Erik Reyna, who was sworn in on November 17, 2023. Deputy Chief Reyna is a 19-year veteran of the Friendswood Police Department, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role.

Deputy Chief Reyna’s journey with the department began in 2004. His career trajectory includes roles as a patrolman, patrol corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain. Prior to his promotion, Reyna served as the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division for five years, overseeing all investigative operations, including crime scene investigations and field support operations.

With Chief Rogers and Deputy Chief Reyna at the forefront, the Friendswood Police Department is set to continue its legacy of excellence in law enforcement, ensuring the safety and security of the community through effective leadership and dedicated service.
