The Academic Decathlon teams from Pearland High School, Turner College, and Career High School competed at the Region 5 competition on January 27-28 at Clear Springs High School.
PHS won second place in the large school division and will advance to the Thomas E. Moseley state competition in San Antonio.
TCCHS won third place in the medium school division and second place in the medium school Super Quiz competition and will advance to the state competition in Frisco.

Honors
Jason Crandall won a silver medal in Social Science and a bronze medal in Music.
Sarah Muhammad won a gold medal in Science and a bronze medal in Social Science.
Kaiden Vo won a gold medal in Essay, silver medals in Math and Social Science, and bronze in Science. Kaiden was the third highest-ranking individual student in the Large School Honors division.
Scholastic
Kelsi Barker won a bronze medal in Speech.
Vincent Custer won a silver Social Science medal and a bronze Essay medal.
Varsity
Landon Guest won a bronze medal in Art.
Tadewa Oyewole won gold medals in Math and Economics and bronze medals in Music and Essay. He was the third highest-ranking individual student in the Large School Varsity division.
Gabriela Parra won gold medals in Music, Science, Literature, and Art and a silver medal in Social Science. She was the second highest-ranking individual student in the Large School Varsity division.

Thomas Lambert won a gold medal in Economics, silver medals in Math and Essay, and a bronze medal in Science.

Benjamin Roberts won a gold medal in Math and Bronze medals in Economics, Science, and Essay.
Varsity
Benjamin Chicoria won a gold medal in Essay, a Silver medal in Interview, and a bronze medal in Social Science.
John-Paul Nguyen won a silver medal in Science and a bronze medal in Math.
