Museum offers a free program March 7

A presentation titled “A Victorian Lady on the Texas Frontier” detailing the life of Anne Raney Coleman will be shared at 6 p.m. on March 7 at the Brazoria County Historical Museum, 100 E. Cedar in Angleton.

The presentation and museum admission are free and open to the public. Presented by Jill Bailer, of Bayou Bend, the event in honor of Women’s History Month chronicles early Texas seen through the eyes of Coleman, who came to Texas with her family in the 1830s and kept a journal through the struggle for Texas Independence to the Federal attack on the Texas Gulf Coast in the Civil War. She passed away in 1897.
