Pear Run scheduled for May 4

Date:

Hosted by the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, the 18th annual Pear Run is set for May 4 at Independence Park.

This year’s event is adding a new 10K course to the regular 5K race.

The Pear Run began in 2001 to help fund non-budgeted items for the police department and has since helped fund equipment such as drones, bikes, and a mobile command unit.

The 5K and 10K routes will begin and end at 3449 Pearland Parkway.

Race-day packet pickup begins at 6:45 the day of the run, with the 10K starting at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K starting at 8 a.m. Partial closures of Pearland Parkway and Dixie Farm are scheduled for the race; roads should be reopened by 9:30 a.m.

Registration is open at PearRun.com, and sponsorships begin at $150.
