Ives Honored as Officer of the Year

Officer Jason Ives has been named Officer of the Year by the 50 Club of Galveston County. This prestigious recognition is awarded annually to one exemplary officer from each law enforcement agency within the county, highlighting their dedication and service.

Officer Ives, who has distinguished himself through his exceptional service and commitment to the community, received the accolade for his outstanding public safety contributions and compassionate approach to community policing.

As a school resource officer, Ives is a fixture at Friendswood High School, where his friendly demeanor and relatability make him a popular and respected presence around campus. FHS Senior James Saul said, “Ives is so easy to talk to because he is so genuine, and you can really tell he enjoys what he does and we love him for it.”

“The Friendswood Police Department is incredibly proud of Officer Ives and his accomplishments,” said a department spokesperson. “His recognition as Officer of the Year is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the compassion he brings to the job every day.”

The 50 Club of Galveston County, an organization dedicated to supporting law enforcement officers and their families, selects recipients of this award based on their professional achievements, commitment to their communities, and the impact they have made through their service.
