Pearl Theatre to Stage ‘American Son’

The Pearl Theatre will open the drama “American Son” by Christopher Demos-Brown on Friday, June 14. Directed by Errol Anthony Wilks, the play follows an estranged biracial couple whose son is detained by police following a traffic stop.

The show opens at 8 p.m. on Friday and runs through June 30 at the theatre, located at 14803 Park Almeda Drive. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. on Sundays, with an additional show at 7:30 p.m. on June 20. The June 23 performance will include a talkback session with the cast and director.

The box office opens an hour before showtime for ticket purchases and pickups. Tickets are priced at $18 for seniors and students, and $20 for adults.
