Harriette ‘Cheryl’ (Hatcher) Bouillion, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Webster, Texas, at the age of 79.
Born on November 2, 1944, in Monet, Missouri, Cheryl’s life was marked by her generosity, caring nature, devoted civil service, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Cheryl graduated from Friendswood High School in 1962 before furthering her education at the University of Houston Clear Lake.
Her professional life was notably distinguished by a lifelong career at NASA, where she supported multiple manned spaceflight missions as a secretary to the flight director, at one time traveling to the USSR to help support the Apollo-Soyuz Tests Project. She then retired from NASA as a program analyst in 2012 with 33 years of distinguished Civilian-Army, Civilian-Air Force and NASA service.
Retirement was, however, not the end of her time working, as she then devoted her time to the creation and growth of the Friendswood Schools Museum. The museum became her passion project as she expanded, recruited many more volunteers, and grew the museum to become a treasured piece of Friendswood history.
Cheryl’s personal life was rich with love and relationships. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Beau Bouillion; her sister, Jody (Dennis) Bucher; her sons, Jeremy and Blake (Jessica) Bouillion; and her beloved grandchildren, Karissa, Henry, and Sylvie Bouillion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marietta and Harry Hatcher, and her oldest sister, Deanna (Pruett) Cole.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on July 6, 2024, at Friendswood Friends Church Cemetery. Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, TX, is assisting the family during this time.
Cheryl’s life was a beacon of love and determination, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and those who knew her warmth, her loving embrace, and her endless capacity to care for others.
