10-year TxDOT plan open for comments

Date:

The Texas Department of Transportation seeks public feedback through Aug. 5 on its 10-year statewide transportation plan.

Known as the Unified Transportation Program, or UTP, the plan is currently in draft form, proposing an estimated $104.2 billion in projects around the state.

“The (plan) serves as TxDOT’s strategic 10-year blueprint for advancing projects statewide,” executive director Marc Williams said in an announcement. “Collaborating with our transportation partners and communities ensures that we continue connection you with Texas while prioritizing safety, delivery, innovation and stewardship.”

The plan is set to be considered by the Transportation Commission for approval at its August meeting. The public comment period ends at 4 p.m. on Aug. 5. A virtual public hearing will be held on July 31, with comments taken by phone or online at txdot.gov/projects/planning/utp.html
