ACC Foundation Supporters Benefit Culinary Program – Wild Art

Date:

The Alvin Community College Foundation recently partnered with Terry Droege, owner of TDEC Inc. – Electrical Contractor, and Travis Plaster, owner of 7-F Fabrication, to provide a top-of-the-line BBQ pit for the Culinary Arts program.

Droege donated the barbecue pit, and Plaster, an ACC Welding department alum, refurbished it.

An innovative grant from the ACC Foundation funded the restoration, while Plaster donated additional materials and labor to complete the job and deliver the beautifully refurbished unit to the campus.

The barbecue pit will allow the Culinary Arts department to expand its curriculum to include barbecue, grilling, smoking, and more.

This collaborative effort underscores the strength and unity of the ACC Foundation and the community in supporting innovative educational initiatives.
