Police pursuit ends peacefully

In the early hours of August 24, the Friendswood Police Department responded to a critical incident involving a barricaded suspect in the 4400 block of Peridot Lane. The situation unfolded after Friendswood PD was notified at approximately 12:20 am of a pursuit involving multiple Harris County agencies entering the city.

Shortly after the pursuit began, a resident in the 4400 block of Peridot Lane made a 9-1-1 call reporting that an unknown individual had entered their home and was causing distress. Friendswood officers, working quickly, arrived on the scene and ensured the safe evacuation of all family members from the residence.

In collaboration with multiple Harris County agencies, Friendswood PD entered the residence and successfully located the individual, who was found hiding inside. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Bennie Bruce Stoves IV, was taken into custody by the Houston Police Department.

Further investigation revealed that Stoves is related to members of the residence. No further details have been released at this time. The Friendswood Police Department encourages residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities immediately.
