ACC to Host Fall Festival on October 26

Date:

Alvin Community College will host the 49th Annual Fall Festival on campus on Saturday, October 26.

The event includes kids’ games, vendor booths sponsored by local businesses and campus clubs and organizations, plus a variety of food such as turkey legs, roasted corn, hot dogs, and, of course, candy.

The Fall Festival started nearly 50 years ago to provide an alternative to trick or treating on Halloween; the ACC Fall Festival has become the college’s largest event of the year. It is estimated that over 7,000 kids and family members attend each year.

Also featured this year will be a Health Fair that will include many of the health science programs at the college, including Respiratory Care, Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography, Polysomnography, Pharmacy, Neurodiagnostic Technology, Nursing, and more. There will be free health screenings for the community as well as informational booths about healthcare issues.

The Fall Festival will also feature a costume contest hosted by the Alvin Nursing Student Association. The contest is open to kids of all ages. Prizes will be awarded in numerous age categories, and one will be awarded for best overall. The entry fee for the contest is $5.
The Fall Festival will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the main campus, 3110 Mustang Road.
Vendors are still being sought for the event. For information about renting a booth, visit the Marketplace at www.alvincollege.edu.
