Rotary Regatta returns for 7th year

Date:

Residents are invited to paddle their way to fun and community spirit at the 2024 Rotary Regatta, scheduled for Saturday, September 28.

This popular annual event, hosted by the Friendswood Rotary Club, offers serious racers and casual paddlers the chance to experience the beauty of Clear Creek while supporting a good cause.

This year’s event introduces a new race format, offering both 4-mile and 12-mile options. In previous years, participants competed in a 6-mile race, but the updated format now accommodates a wider range of abilities. The 4-mile course is ideal for families and casual racers, ending at Stevenson Park, while the 12-mile course challenges more experienced participants to reach a buoy near Countryside Park and return to the starting point at 1776 Park.

Funds raised by the Rotary Regatta will benefit various local initiatives, including scholarships, service projects, and public park amenities like the Rotary Pavilion at Stevenson Park.

Registration is now open for all age groups and skill levels. Awards will be given in various categories for the top finishers, and there will also be activities and entertainment at the park for non-participants, making it a family-friendly event.

Don’t miss this chance to enjoy Friendswood’s natural beauty while supporting the local community. To register or learn more about the event, visit rotaryregatta.org.
