Clear Creek ISD increases hourly rate for bus drivers

Date:

Clear Creek ISD recently increased the starting hourly rate for bus drivers from $20.56 to $22 per hour. The district also increased the minimum guaranteed daily work hours from 5.5 to 6.5. In addition to these hours, more opportunities are available to staff to earn extra hours driving mid-day routes and field trips.

“Investing in our drivers’ pay is investing in the safety and reliability of our transportation services,” said Tammy Pickett, Assistant Director of Operations Transportation. “This investment not only reflects our appreciation for their hard work but also ensures we attract and retain the best talent in the industry. When we value our drivers, we ensure that every journey is made with dedication and care, reflecting our commitment to both their well-being and the well-being of our students,” she added.

New drivers to CCISD currently holding a commercial driver’s license (CDL) are eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus. Those without a CDL can apply for a paid bus driver in training position.
