Burglary

Sept. 23 (8:06 a.m.) An unlocked vehicle burglary was reported at the Reserve at Autumn Creek Apartments located at 3102 W. Bay Area Blvd. The burglary occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 7:20 a.m. During the burglary, a credit card, a gym bag, and cash were stolen. The credit card was used six times – three times at a Shell station in Crosby and three times at a Shell station in Kemah.
Sept. 25 (5:53 p.m.) A vehicle burglary was reported at the Kroger Gas Station located at 3135 FM 528. The victim was refueling her vehicle when she heard a loud noise. She looked and observed that her front passenger side window was shattered, and her purse was stolen. The suspect vehicle was a gray Infiniti QX60 parked next to her at the pump. A witness followed the suspect vehicle until it turned south on Interstate 45. The Infiniti did not have a license plate.

Theft

Sept. 23 (2:01 p.m.) On September 3, 2024, a Friendswood woman placed three letters into her mailbox, each contained a check. Two of the checks made it to their destination, but one did not. She received a call from the fraud department of PNC Bank who flagged the check as a possible fraud. The original check was made out for $1,300. The check was washed, the amount was changed to $7,300, and the pay to order section was changed.
Sept. 24 (9:51 a.m.) A 41-year-old Seabrook man and owner of construction and painting company is accused of theft in connection with a fence repair that was supposed to take place in the 16700 block of Tibet Road. The suspect was paid in full and was supposed to begin work on August 11, 2024. When the start date kept moving back, the victim requested a refund. Now, the company representatives refuse contact.
Sept. 30 (12:07 a.m.) An officer observed a man stealing the flowers planted around the Walgreens sign at 102 N. Friendswood Drive. When approached, the man advised that he believed the garden was overgrown and admitted that he did not have permission to unearth the flowers. The man was identified, and charges may be filed once a manager at Walgreens can be contacted.

Criminal Mischief

Sept. 26 (11:54 a.m.) A mailbox was vandalized in the 800 block of Tall Pines Drive. The brick mailbox was destroyed possibly by a vehicle striking it.
Fraud

Sept. 23 (12:05 p.m.) A Friendswood businessman reported fraudulent activity on his business bank account. A recent audit of the account indicated several unauthorized electronic transfers.
Sept. 25 (11:17 a.m.) An 18-year-old Friendswood woman suspects that a family member used her personal identifying information to open a credit card account, make charges on the account, and did not play the credit card balance resulting in the account going to collections.

Traffic

Sept. 24 (6:18 p.m.) A hit and run accident involving a parked vehicle was reported in the Friendswood High School parking lot at 702 Greenbriar Drive. The victim’s vehicle received front passenger side quarter panel damage sometime between 8:40 a.m. and 6:17 p.m. A surveillance camera review is underway to identify the suspect vehicle.
Sept. 25 (2:29 p.m.) A 71-year-old Webster man sideswiped a parked vehicle in a parking lot in the 100 block of Whispering Pines on September 24 and failed to give the required information to the owner of the vehicle.
