Pearland ISD Board President Crystal Carbone Elected to Interim Position on State Association Board.

The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors has elected Pearland Independent School District Board President Crystal Carbone to an interim position on the TASB Board, representing TASB Region 4, Position C.
TASB, a nonprofit organization established in 1949, serves local Texas school boards. School board members are the state’s largest group of publicly elected officials. The districts they represent serve more than 5.5 million public school students.
Carbone has served in Pearland ISD as a trustee since 2018. Her professional career spans a range of roles, from providing mental health services to adults and adolescents to coordinating research on adolescent treatment and addiction. Carbone previously served as a licensed school psychology specialist for Pearland ISD, working closely with students and families to address mental health and educational needs. She holds a dual master’s degree in clinical and school psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
“I am honored to have been selected. As a proud parent of three daughters and a Pearland ISD graduate, public education transformed my life and remains my passion,” Carbone said. “I am committed to advocating for Texas schools, ensuring every student has access to the resources they need to succeed and collaborating with fellow trustees to strengthen public education across our state. It is a sincere privilege to serve and help shape the future of Texas public schools.”
As an active leader, Carbone earned the Master Trustee designation 2022 through the Leadership TASB program and was named the 2021 Pearland Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. She is the secretary-treasurer of the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards. She has previously served as a founding board member of the Pearland ISD Education Foundation, vice-chair of the Adult Reading Center, chair of the Pearland Library Board, vice-president of the Pearland Silverlake Lions Club, and member of the Brazoria County Child Welfare Board.
