Walking Club holds January challenge

The Melvin Knapp Center, 2424 South Park Ave., is holding a New Year Walking Challenge for seniors to attend its Walking Club seven times through January 31 to be entered into a prize drawing. The Walking Club meets seven days a week at 7:45 a.m. at the recreation center, 4141 Bailey Road.

Those who attend every weekday of the challenge will be entered four times, and winners receive a gift card for a local business.

Walking Challenge sheets can be picked up at the front desk of the Knapp Center and should be turned in no later than February 4. The drawing will take place on February 5.

The center also hosts a slate of exercise and activity classes for seniors throughout the year. For more information, call 281-652-1890. Membership at the Knapp Center is $25 per year for Pearland residents and $50 for non-residents.
