Long-Serving Employees Mark Milestones as City Recognizes Service

Date:

The City of Friendswood recognized dozens of long-serving employees during its annual service awards, including several marking more than two decades with the city.
Library Director Matt Riley led the honorees with 35 years of service, while Police Department veterans David Brill and Doug Lerdorf were recognized for 30 years each. Police Chief Robert Rogers marked 25 years with the city.

City Manager Morad Kabiri said the length of service demonstrated by many employees reflects well on both the organization and council’s support. “It’s not uncommon for us to have employees of that tenure in our organization and that’s a testament to this Council for their support over the years and then the quality of the organization,” he said.

Additional recognition went to Jennifer Hale, Deputy Director of Municipal Court, who completed the first-ever Houston-Galveston Area Council partnership program focused on organizational leadership skills. Assistant City Manager Leticia Brysch was also acknowledged for her expertise in election law, having been asked to co-present multiple sessions at a recent Secretary of State election law seminar.

The awards spanned departments across city government, with recipients in public works, police, parks and recreation, library services, and other divisions marking service milestones ranging from 5 to 35 years.
