The winning team, consisting of Hannah Smith, Ava Leggio, and Rylee Hogue, topped the competition with their chili and rice dish. The team will represent Friendswood ISD at the Aramark Regional Competition, scheduled for February 7 at Minute Maid Park. They will compete against teams from Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
Students from Friendswood ISD competed in the FISD Culinary Star Competition, held at the Culinary Kitchen at Friendswood High School. Participants prepared entrées and side dishes inspired by Fresh Flavors of the Southwest and were judged on appearance, taste, technical skills, degree of difficulty, and use of a mystery ingredient.
