Auto Theft Operation Discovered After Friendswood Police Locate Stolen Vehicle

On January 22, 2025, at approximately 10:11 pm, Friendswood Police received a report of a maroon Chevrolet Silverado truck theft in progress from the Bay Meadows Apartments parking lot, located at 17201 Blackhawk Blvd. The vehicle owner witnessed the robbery as the truck was driven away, followed closely by a Mitsubishi.

Following further investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for a property at 2018 Atlanta Street in Deer Park. Upon executing the warrant on January 30, three men were detained at the location. Officers immediately located the stolen maroon Chevrolet Silverado, along with two additional trucks that were reported stolen from Houston and League City.

As a result of the investigation, Julian Garza, 22, of Pasadena, was arrested, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted felony charges for Theft and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

The success of this operation was made possible through collaboration with the Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force and the Deer Park Police Department.
